Two community restaurants in Thomassin 32 have received supplies to keep up their food assistance work. They serve meals to vulnerable people. Haiti24 and Vant Bèf Info both report on this operation by the Fonds d'assistance économique et sociale (FAES).
What the Prime Minister's Office says
According to the Prime Minister's Office, cited by Haiti24, the government has stepped up its social programs through the FAES since the start of November 2026. It says it wants to help the most vulnerable. Haiti24 adds that, through these initiatives, the executive is reaffirming its commitment to fighting food insecurity and supporting the poorest families.
A new restaurant in Croix-Martyrs
Vant Bèf Info is the only one of the two sources to give details on what happened in Les Cayes. The FAES opened the Croix-Martyrs community restaurant there on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in the Dèyè Fò area. It joins those already operating in the commune.
The institution has also started distributing hot meals at two establishments in the city, RK/Kwamati and RK Dèyè Fò. The aim is to make it easier for people facing economic hardship to get food. The brief does not give an exact date for this launch.
On the Prime Minister's instructions
According to information the FAES gave Vant Bèf Info, these interventions are being carried out on the instructions of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. They are part of the government's work for the poorest populations. The FAES intends to keep its community restaurants running and extend them to several areas of the country.
