The Bureau de Protection des Droits Humains (BPDH) has officially adopted a founding charter, according to Le National. The Bureau has set itself four missions: protecting vulnerable people, supporting victims of violence, making it easier to get access to justice and helping to prevent violations of fundamental rights. The outlet presents the move as an effort to put human dignity at the center of social action, going beyond mere statements of intent.

Who attended the signing

BPDH volunteers were present. Commissioner Eddit Techler Sylvain of the Haitian National Police also attended, as did Me Magarette Georges, a judge at the Court of Appeal of Cap-Haïtien.

Organizations had also sent representatives, including Entr'Elles, Empow'her and AFUCH. The same was true of institutions such as the Institution Parents Réunis, EFBACAP and FDSEG-CHC.

An institution focused on children and disability

The BPDH describes itself as an institution that promotes, defends and protects human rights. It places particular emphasis on the rights of children and people with disabilities.

The text of the article we had access to ends there. The date of the signing, the content of the charter and the names of the Bureau's officials are not given.
