The player, who scored a goal in the match won by Barcelona (4-0), did not react to the racial insults coming from the stands. He stated: "Calling me black doesn't bother me, I am black." However, he clarified that being treated with contempt remains unacceptable and it is important to distinguish his racial identity from the racist intentions behind the insults.

Yamal asserts that these insults do not disturb his performance on the field, while reminding everyone that racist acts remain unacceptable nonetheless. He added: "What is wrong can never be accepted."

Following the Clásico incident, several minors identified as perpetrators of the insults were punished with a one-year ban from stadiums and 30 hours of socio-educational work.
