Police operation kills gang leader in Bercy

Haiti's national police have announced the death of Galaxie, a suspected leader of a criminal group. According to information circulated by Erikpr News and confirmed by El Nuevo Diario, the police operation took place last Thursday in the Bercy area between Cabaret and Arcahaie.

The intervention left a number of armed gang members dead. Several local sources reported that at least a dozen people were believed to have been killed in the raid, but Haitian authorities have not yet officially confirmed that figure.

Galaxie's death is also still awaiting confirmation. Other members of the criminal gangs managed to escape during the operation, which has raised tension in several neighboring areas, according to some local sources.

The incident comes as Haiti faces an escalation of action against armed groups.
