Kylian Mbappé accused of cheating during a match

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has been at the center of a controversy after opening the scoring from the penalty spot for his team against Racing Santander on Sunday. Catalan media have sharply criticized the referee and accused Mbappé of diving.

The match ended in a 3-0 win for Real Madrid, allowing José Mourinho to improve the club's position in La Liga. However, Mundo Deportivo denounced a "ridiculous penalty" awarded for an imperceptible contact and accused Mbappé of diving.

The Catalan daily also claimed that Racing Santander had "an afternoon of horror at El Sardinero, with their game plan wiped out by Mbappé's dive."

Mbappé faces this new controversy just after finishing second in the Ballon d'Or voting and having had diplomatic pressure put on him in China.
