Ramírez was omnipresent both at bat and in the field. He scored the first run for the Guardians in the fifth inning with a double steal, then left third base to score another run due to an error by second baseman Chase Meidroth.

In the sixth inning, Ramírez made a crucial defensive play by stopping a sharp line drive hit by Miguel Vargas with the bases loaded. This play maintained Cleveland's lead and prevented Chicago from tying the game.

Pitcher Foster Griffin made an excellent start for the Guardians, getting seven of his eight outs on strikeouts. The solid defense and effective pitcher allowed the Guardians to win 9-3 in front of a crowd of 40,590 at Rocket Field.

The key match of the quarterfinal is scheduled for Thursday, where Cleveland will try to tie the series and revitalize their playoff campaign after two initial losses.
