Privert calls on the CEP to exercise its responsibilities with transparency and impartiality towards all candidates and political parties. He stresses the importance of adhering to legal procedures to ensure the legitimacy of the vote. According to him, the state must guarantee that public resources do not favor certain candidates or parties.
Co-director of Collectif Défenseurs Plus, Antonal Mortimé believes that due to the current conditions in Haiti—political, security, and technical—it would be impossible to organize elections in December 2026. He recalls that the CEP led by Guylande Mésadieu failed to organize the announced elections between 2020 and 2021.
Context
Privert emphasizes the need to protect voters, candidates, and electoral personnel from violence. He also calls on all political actors to respect the democratic process to avoid tensions around potential results.
