Sailor Jérémie Beyou will head to Guadeloupe from Saint-Malo to compete in his fifth Route du Rhum.

Technical preparation and return to solo sailing

According to TV5Monde, the 50-year-old sailor had his monohull modified for six months in Lorient to stabilize the high-speed vessel. To keep up with the pace during this construction period, the sailor re-engaged at the beginning of the year on the Figaro circuit.

Economic impact and future as a sailor

For the next phase of his professional career, Beyou is looking to attract investors to pilot maxi-trimarans.
On the other hand, the Guadeloupe Region has set up a 950 square meter village with 47 companies in Saint-Malo, reports Outremers360. The vice president of the regional council, Jean-Claude Nelson, aims for a financial impact between 30 and 35 million euros.
