The CEST is primarily intended to serve the young population of Môle-Saint-Nicolas, Jean-Rabel, Bombardopolis, and Baie-de-Henne. Its goal is to offer education tailored to local economic needs to reduce student travel to Port-de-Paix or abroad.
However, despite this inauguration, certain material conditions remain to be consolidated before the center can start operating effectively. The rectorate continues to seek a permanent site for its establishment and awaits assurances regarding the construction of a facility from the Ministry of National Education.
The CEST is part of a national program aimed at creating nine similar centers affiliated with public departmental universities. Its impact will now depend on its ability to finance its infrastructure, define its programs, and ensure sustainable pedagogical supervision.
