Guterres and Fils-Aimé discuss Haiti's priorities

Security was at the center of the discussions. Fils-Aimé and Guterres focused on the need to quickly renew Security Council Resolution 2793, as well as accelerating the effective deployment of the Multinational Force for Support to Security (MFS). The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach combining security, justice, disarmament, and reintegration.

The electoral process was also discussed. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to restoring constitutional order through the holding of elections. The Haitian Prime Minister stressed the need to continue preparations and engage in dialogue with all stakeholders.

Economically, Fils-Aimé advocated for an approach focused on investment rather than just aid. He highlighted job creation and sustainable trade as essential priorities.

At the end of their meeting, António Guterres reaffirmed the UN's support for Haiti in its efforts regarding security, political processes, and economic development.
