Fondation Zile calls for dialogue following the Haiti-Dominican Republic meeting

The Zile Foundation has issued an urgent call for Haitian and Dominican authorities to quickly begin discussions to resolve the tensions that arose following the match between Haiti and the Dominican Republic on October 1, 2026. Invited to the Panel Magik program last Monday, Edwin Paraison emphasized that this dialogue must explore all aspects of the problem in depth.

Edwin Paraison deplores a lack of planning to manage the large turnout at the match, estimating that approximately 25,000 people attended the event when only 12,000 were expected. The foundation also noted in its initial assessment that incidents regarding stadium access were limited and localized, with no notable cases of vandalism.

The Zile Foundation is proposing several recommendations: an independent investigation into the match's infrastructure by Concacaf, a detailed report from Dominican authorities regarding security measures, and a meeting between federations to establish a protocol for coexistence.
