Fleetwood beats Arsenal and will face Newcastle or Everton in the quarters

Fleetwood Town, a member of League Two (D4), eliminated Arsenal on Tuesday in the fourth round of the League Cup with a penalty shootout win of 5-3 after a 1-1 draw. The English club thus qualifies for the quarterfinals where it will face either Everton or Newcastle.

On Wednesday evening, Liverpool also secured its place in the quarterfinals after a penalty shootout against Chelsea. The Reds won the match 6-5 on penalties following a scoreless draw over the 90 minutes of regular play. Notable players mentioned include Wesley Fofana for Chelsea.

For its part, Manchester City had to fight against Brighton, conceding two goals before coming back with Vitor Reis's goal and Geronimo Rulli saving two penalties during the shootout. The final victory went to the Citizens by a score of 4-3.
