Arrived from Lyon in 2019, Mendy has suffered twenty injuries according to transfermarkt. This season, he has not yet played an official match and must fight for a spot under the direction of José Mourinho.
Mendy remains at the club despite rumors of a departure this summer. Marc Cucurella arrived from Benfica during the summer to play left back, while Alvaro Carreras serves as backup and Fran Garcia has joined Betis.
Zinedine Zidane, who signed Mendy for Madrid, still appreciates his play. However, the competition is strong with Theo Hernandez and Lucas Digne in the national team.
