Borussia Dortmund left the Allianz Arena with a 2–2 draw against Bayern Munich on Saturday, October 31, according to Sport News Africa. Bayern had taken the lead twice. Neither club has lost a single match in eight Bundesliga rounds, and they have eighteen points each at the top of the table.
Two goals for Munich, two answers from Dortmund
Konrad Laimer opened the scoring in the 38th minute, after a first attempt was stopped by Gregor Kobel, the Dortmund goalkeeper. Four minutes later, Carney Chukwuemeka slipped into the box and set up Serhou Guirassy, who beat the keeper first time. It was BVB's first goal.
Dayot Upamecano put Munich ahead again in the 66th minute. Joshua Kimmich had crossed, and Kane had headed the ball on in front of the goal. Fábio Silva leveled the score in the 89th minute. Lennart Karl then hit the crossbar for Bayern, who did not get a third goal.
A choppy first half
Both teams created chances before the opening goal. Michael Olise hit the post, while Jobe Bellingham forced Jonas Urbig into a save. A goal from Bellingham was disallowed after a video assistant referee review. Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry had to leave the pitch before the break.
The starting line-ups
Foot Mercato published the line-ups before the match. Bayern lined up in a 4-2-3-1: Urbig in goal, Upamecano paired with Tah in central defense, Davies and Laimer on the flanks. Kimmich and Pavlovic held the midfield, Olise and Gnabry the wings, with Saibari behind Kane.
Dortmund played a 3-4-2-1, with Kobel behind Gadou, Anton and Schlotterbeck. Beier and Svensson held the flanks, Nmecha and Veerman the midfield. Bellingham and Chukwuemeka supported Guirassy up front. The site noted that Bayern were leaders and that BVB, in second, had the same number of points.
An identical record
Both teams have five wins and three draws. Bayern keep first place without having opened a gap on their closest challenger.
