Krösche joined in the summer of 2021 and leaves behind a record marked by the victory in the Europa League in 2022, one of Frankfurt's recent major successes. The board accepted his request and maintained his contract in an adapted form until June 2028.

In an official statement, the club thanked Krösche for his contributions over the past years and wished him good luck in the next phase of his career. It is indicated that several European clubs could be interested in the services of the now available sports director.
