The GSF deployed several hundred soldiers supported by armored vehicles and helicopters in Tabarre. The operations involved advancing through difficult-to-access areas as well as removing barricades installed in targeted sectors.

In Cité Soleil, an operation was carried out on the important Soleil 9 road axis to remove obstacles and disrupt activities allegedly linked to gangs. According to the GSF, these interventions led to confrontations with suspected gang members.

The force did not provide a tally of any civilian casualties or give further details about the circumstances of the confrontations. Three firearms, magazines and ammunition, a radio, two motorcycles, as well as various equipment were seized during these operations.

Progressive Deployment

The GSF has an authorized strength that can reach 5,500 personnel. As of September 29, approximately 1,500 soldiers had been deployed according to data communicated to the United Nations Security Council.

Impact and Objectives

According to the GSF's annual report, this presence would have contributed to reducing the territorial control of armed groups on certain axes. The force indicates it wants to maintain a reinforced presence in targeted areas to continue its operations.
