A tense situation arose on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in front of the offices of the National Directorate for Potable Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) in Delmas 34. Employees burned tires to express their salary demands.

According to Vant Bèf Info, these protesters claim they have not yet received their pay. This action disrupted access to the DINEPA facilities and created a tense atmosphere around the public entity.

Luckenson Auguste, DINEPA's communications manager, formally denied these allegations by phone. He stated that the salaries were deposited on Tuesday, November 3, into the respective accounts of the employees.

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) dispatched officers to the scene to prevent any escalation and stabilize the situation.

The motives remain to be determined

Between the demands reported by Vant Bèf Info and DINEPA's denial, it is difficult to establish with certainty the true motives behind this salary-related mobilization.
