Five major sporting events are shaping the African calendar for the month of October

Futsal and CAF football competitions

The continental Futsal Africa Cup of Nations tournament will be held in Morocco between October 12 and 21. The Confederation of African Football is also organizing the second preliminary round of its interclub competitions, which include the Champions League and the Confederation Cup. The first leg matches will take place from October 16 to 18, while the return legs are scheduled for October 23 to 25. In this context, Mazembe will play its matches on October 17 and 25.

Women's tournaments and youth events

The Women's U17 World Cup will take place from October 17 to November 7. Finally, the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar are scheduled to start on October 31 and end on November 13. The dates for these competitions, verified on October 5, 2026, remain subject to change by the various organizing entities.
