Since the start of the disruptions, Capital Bank has indicated that it is dealing with an IT incident and not directly with a cyberattack. The group LockBit claims on specialized platforms to be claiming responsibility for the incident on October 5, though the bank has not officially made this connection.

The resumption of services is postponed beyond this Wednesday, with no specific date being communicated until further confirmation. The bank assures, however, that it will continue to inform its clients as soon as conditions are met for a gradual and secure return of operations.
