For Senate nominations, the files must be submitted to the relevant Departmental Electoral Bureau (BED). For example, in the West department, these procedures take place at BED West I on the Route des Frères for constituencies including Carrefour, Gressier, and Port-au-Prince III.
Candidates for the Chamber of Deputies must address themselves to the competent Communal Electoral Offices (BEC) territorially. The CEP justifies this distribution by the need to ensure the continuity of operations in certain communes, particularly for the official registration of candidates.
Submission of Candidacies
The electoral process now enters a crucial phase with the official registration of aspirants. Deadline dates vary according to departments and electoral districts. For example, in Artibonite:
- La Chapelle, Grande-Saline: Departmental BED.
- Mirebalais, Saut-d’Eau: Central BED.
This organization aims to ensure efficient management of candidacies while respecting the deadlines set by the CEP.
