Matías played with Santurce for five seasons, averaging 9 points and 3 rebounds per game, while shooting 36% from three-point range. After a regular season that ended with a 19-15 record and a quarterfinal playoff elimination against the Criollos de Caguas, Santurce decided to send Matías to Ponce.
The Leones have already made several moves this offseason. They previously sent Jordan Murphy and a 2028 draft pick to another team in exchange for the rights to Nate Santos. This time, they are adding Ángel Matías's experience to their roster.
Ford played six games for Santurce last season, averaging 7 points per game with a 47% three-point shooting percentage. He will head to Ponce in exchange for a 2027 draft pick and another unspecified player.
Other moves
Player Manny Camper announced on social media that he will not return to play for the Santeros de Aguada next season. "After much analysis, I have decided that it is time for new opportunities," he wrote.
