Former Senate President Pierre François Sildor died

Sildor held numerous positions within the Electricité d'Haïti (EDH) before entering politics. He was notably the financial and administrative director, and then the general director. His efforts to electrify Maniche while working at EDH contributed to strengthening his attachment to this commune.

He became president of the Senate in January 2020 in a difficult political context and remained in the position until January 2021, when Joseph Lambert succeeded him.

Sildor had been suffering from a stroke that occurred in Canada in 2024 for several years.

Former deputy from Kenscoff, Alfredo Antoine, paid tribute to him, describing him as an "exemplary parliamentarian, patriot, and man of peace."
