On November 5, 2026, Haiti's ambassador to Mexico, Hubert Labbé, visited a delegation of 114 Haitian soldiers who have been undergoing basic training since September at the Huehuetoca base in the State of Mexico. Accompanied by Minister Counselor Pierre Michel Bonnet, he was received by General Marco Antonio Alvarez.
During the visit, Labbé encouraged them to keep up their efforts and told them about the progress made so far. The delegation also watched military exercises and spoke with the trainees about a possible second phase of training that would allow the soldiers to hone their skills.
The ambassador praised the support provided by the Mexican authorities, notably the Secretariat of National Defense (DEFENSA) and Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The training is part of a program aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H).
