On Thursday, November 5, staff at the Mayotte Social Security Fund (CSSM) held a one-day strike. Their demands center on salary increases and the strengthening of human and financial resources to address social convergence.
Faïza Ali, a CGT-Ma union representative, stated that "our point value must increase, it must keep pace with rising inflation." Currently set at 7.69 euros according to Faïza Ali, this value is used to calculate salaries. The staff also believe they are among the lowest-paid employees in France.
Fatima Mansoibou, a CFDT union representative, for her part called for "more human resources and more support" for the CSSM in order to effectively manage social convergence. Discussions were held on Wednesday with management, who remain open to negotiation.
