The bracket for the women's football qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games is now known, with eight matchups on the program. At the same time, the deliberations concerning the AFCON final are continuing in Lausanne.

The schedule. According to Afrik-Foot, the Algerian selection will face Burkina Faso and Morocco will play against Nigeria. Ivory Coast will meet Cameroon in a showdown known as the "In-laws' match." The other duels will pit Senegal against Mali, Tanzania against Ethiopia, South Africa against Angola, Kenya against Malawi, and Zambia against Ghana.

The calendar. The first leg of these fixtures will take place on February 23, 2027, as part of the Los Angeles Olympic Games event. The return matches are scheduled for the following March 6.

The controversy. According to Football.fr, a document dated October 14, 2026, and circulated on social networks falsely announced Senegal's victory for the 2025 AFCON. This publication mentioned Matthieu Reeb as the secretary general of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, whereas he serves as the director general.

The arbitration. Also according to Football.fr, judges Gerald Simon, Luigi Fumagalli, and Ulrich Haas are examining the case of the final played on January 18 in Rabat. The matter follows the departure of the Senegalese players from the pitch for sixteen minutes and CAF's decision to award a 3-0 victory by forfeit to Morocco on March 17, despite Senegal's 1-0 win on the field. No final decision has been handed down yet.
