A prosecutor stated that two Iranian individuals had surveilled a synagogue in Heaton Park with plans to use a chlorine-based explosive device. The incident occurred on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. According to PBS NewsHour — World, Jihad Al-Shamie carried out an attack at this same location on Oct. 2, 2025.
