Trump attacks Zelensky and says he is ready to meet Putin and Xi
Donald Trump targeted Volodymyr Zelensky again on Sunday, claiming on Truth Social that the Ukrainian leader does not want the fighting to end and likely never has, whereas he himself would like it to. According to TV5Monde, these remarks come despite exchanges between Kyiv and American envoys intended to calm tensions following several decisions by Washington deemed favorable to Moscow.

What Zelensky replied
In his daily address, the Ukrainian president said he had spoken with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He stated that much depended on the United States in this conflict and that his country was ready to work constructively and honestly, an approach he expects from all partners, European and American alike. He specified that the delivery of Patriot systems was among the topics discussed, as Kyiv is struggling to counter Russian missiles.
Previously, on the NBC network, he had judged that official support from Washington for Russia would be a historic mistake. He said he was grateful that the Americans had resumed sharing intelligence.
Trump's grievance regarding refineries
The American president criticizes the Ukrainians for striking Russian refineries, which he claims contributes to the global rise in fuel prices. He added on Sunday that farmers, ranchers, and businesses were suffering greatly from it. He has blocked sanctions against Russia and concluded an agreement with it on diesel deliveries. On October 11, he had unilaterally announced an energy truce, which did not lastingly stop the attacks.
Overnight from Saturday to Sunday, cross-strikes hit energy facilities in both countries. In Saint Petersburg, the oil terminal burned: the governor reported one dead and five injured. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov saw it as a "manifestation of agony." Overnight from Sunday to Monday, local authorities in Kyiv reported at least one dead and several injured, as well as a damaged subway station.
A summit without Kyiv mentioned
The Wall Street Journal reports that Vladimir Putin has proposed a meeting to Donald Trump and Xi Jinping to discuss an end to the conflict, without Ukraine. The three leaders are invited to an APEC summit in Shenzhen, China, in mid-November.
According to Vant Bèf Info, citing Euronews, Donald Trump said on Monday that he was ready to see all the officials to put an end to the war. On the same day, he criticized Volodymyr Zelensky for not having contributed enough to this goal. Dmitry Peskov admitted that the idea had been mentioned during the October 9 call between the two presidents, but he denied any agreement on a meeting on the sidelines of APEC. Volodymyr Zelensky rejects this prospect and accuses Washington of seeking his country's capitulation.
