The document states that more than half of the recorded victims (65%) were killed during security operations, compared to 30% in direct gang attacks. Gang-rape committed by armed men is frequently reported in health facilities.

In Port-au-Prince, between January and May 2026, Médecins Sans Frontières treated 2,485 victims of sexual violence. According to the report, 72% of the women had been assaulted by armed men and 64% had suffered gang-rape.

Clashes between the Belekou and Wharf Jérémie gangs took place in Cité-Soleil in June 2026, resulting in more than ten cases of sexual violence against women from Wharf Jérémie. These incidents illustrate the violence suffered by civilians during rivalries between armed groups.

The Lower Artibonite experienced a new wave of violence starting on March 29, 2026, with at least 95 dead and 38 injured. Coordinated attacks blamed on the Viv Ansanm gangs targeted several localities in the region.

In Kenscoff, violence intensified between July 4 and 9, 2026, leaving at least 61 residents dead and displacing at least 5,800 people. According to the Panel of Experts' report, these incidents jeopardize the safety of the population as well as access to essential services.

The criminal activities of gangs continue to limit access to humanitarian aid and medical care for the Haitian population. The violence in this strategic area impacts national communications and the agricultural supply for Port-au-Prince.

Sexual violence

Gang-rapes committed by armed men are reported as a major form of violence suffered by women. According to the report, 16% of the victims were minors, and some cases involved children aged 8 to 10.
