The North-East departmental director of Health, representing Minister Sinal Bertrand, encouraged the graduates to serve their country in public facilities. "Serve your country. The Ministry of Public Health and Population needs you," he urged.
The president of the Henry Christophe Campus, Dr. Hérissé Guirand, hailed the event as a "dawn for Haiti." He called on the new doctors to put their skills at the service of the population and to respect the dignity of every patient. The class patron, Emmanise Muscadin, recalled the difficulties faced by students during their training and encouraged the young practitioners to show ingenuity when faced with the system's constraints.
The class president, Itson Imise, was critical of the lack of adequate infrastructure for the new doctors. He also highlighted the absence of a fair distribution of positions within the framework of social service and requested better supervision for young physicians.
The valedictorian, Charles Marc-Édouard Estiverne, argued for improving the conditions of medical training in Haiti in order to offer better prospects for future healthcare professionals.
The motto adopted by the graduates sums up their determination: "Hard work overcomes all obstacles."
