MPCE restarts the Departmental Consultation Table in Jacmel

Minister Sandra Paulémon emphasized that the TDC should enable departmental directors to better document their economic, social, and environmental realities. She stated: "Our goal is clear: gradually enhance the means, skills, and tools of departmental directors so they are at the heart of territorial planning."

Paulémon also mentioned several ongoing projects in the Southeast, including those related to family farming, food security, environmental awareness, and the rehabilitation of a road.

Stanley Mentor, director of the MPCE for the Southeast, recalled that this TDC was established to facilitate dialogue among development actors. He noted that it had not operated since October 2020 due to sociopolitical crises.

Mentor views the resumption of activities as an important turning point in its functioning, hoping it will allow for better harmonization of interventions and more effective follow-up of collective decisions.

Jude Pierre Michel Lafontant, departmental delegate for the Southeast, welcomed the initiative while calling for stronger coordination within the department. He particularly requested the reactivation of a technical council to better support the reports and decisions made during meetings.
