United States: Marco Rubio travels to Reykjavik to discuss cooperation
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is making a brief visit to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. According to a statement from the U.S. Department of State, he will meet with officials to "discuss cooperation in the areas of economy and security."
This visit comes shortly after the signing of an agreement regarding Greenland during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the international summit.
Cuban Interpretation
Havana Times suggests that Marco Rubio could be considered "the best ally" of Cuban President Díaz-Canel, as his actions aimed at strengthening controls on Cuba allow the Cuban government to blame the current economic and social crisis on the U.S. embargo.
