Turkey ends cooperation with Vincenzo Montella
The Turkish Football Federation announced on Friday that it would not continue its collaboration with Vincenzo Montella, who held the position of National Technical Director. "It was decided not to continue our work with the National Team's Technical Director, Mr. Vincenzo Montella," stated an official press release.

Montella had led Turkey to Euro 2024 and contributed to its return to the World Cup after his arrival in September 2023. However, the team's early elimination from the group stages of the 2026 World Cup, along with a difficult run in the Nations League, hastened his departure.
After four consecutive losses for Turkey in the Nations League, Montella was relieved of his duties. The decision came following the country's premature exit from the 2026 World Cup and a poor performance in the European competition.
Consequences
The Turkish Federation also made other administrative decisions, including filling vacancies after the resignations of two council members. The position of National Technical Director is now vacant, and according to some Italian media reports, Arda Turan could be a potential candidate to replace him.
