Projects in Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal

A second sports space was inaugurated on October 3 at the Groupe scolaire Lac de Koumassi in Abidjan, with the support of Wave Côte d’Ivoire. According to Sport News Africa, this facility hosts the Youth League every Saturday and is expected to welcome around 2,500 students per week.

The openings continued on October 7 in Joal-Fadiouth, located on the Senegalese Petite Côte. Another site was inaugurated on October 9 in Dakar, which hosted the finals of the BAL City Run competition.

Infrastructure dedicated to the BAL4HER project

A court focused on women's sports is scheduled to open on October 30 in Guédiawaye, Senegal. In December, the city of Owerri in Nigeria will host the second hub of the BAL4HER program. According to Sport News Africa, this Nigerian project benefits from the commitment of Chiney Ogwumike, a two-time WNBA All-Star, through her organization Queens of the Continent.

"These newly renovated courts reflect our commitment to investing in communities and making basketball more accessible to young people across Africa. Together with our partners, we are creating spaces where the next generation of African basketball players, fans, and changemakers can grow, connect, and thrive," said Amadou Gallo Fall, president of the BAL.
