Barça's plane could not take off for Paris before the clash against PSG

FC Barcelona remained grounded on Monday morning, on the eve of their trip to face Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 9 p.m. in the Champions League. According to Foot Mercato, citing the Catalan daily Sport, the delegation was due to leave El Prat airport at 10:30 a.m. The aircraft was unable to depart due to poor conditions in Paris. The club is awaiting the green light from the relevant authorities. Hansi Flick had, however, unveiled the squad selected for the match that very morning, and Barça's press conference is scheduled for Monday at 5:45 p.m.

A second setback in a few days

Foot Mercato notes that the Barcelona players already experienced a transport issue after their 5-2 victory over Betis. Their return flight from Seville was delayed by several hours due to the weather in Catalonia, and the players remained stuck there before being able to return home.

Two teams that have not yet lost

According to Afrik-Foot, the meeting at the Parc des Princes pits the two leaders of the league phase against each other. Each has two wins in two European outings this season. Paris beat Slovan Bratislava and then Manchester City, while Barça won against Galatasaray and Feyenoord.

At the Etihad, the Parisians were leading 3-0 after a dominant first half. Erling Haaland then scored twice for City, on either side of a goal by Maghnes Akliouche. PSG is on a six-game winning streak in all competitions, and Afrik-Foot points out that they have conceded in their last four matches. Barça, for their part, has won all eleven of their matches this season.

Physical uncertainties on the Catalan side

Still according to Afrik-Foot, Flick is without Andreas Christensen and Roony Bardghji. Jules Koundé, Éric García, and Gerard Martín were injured against Betis. The coach considers the ankle contusions of Koundé and Martín to be minor. García must undergo examinations for suspected thigh discomfort, and Gabriel Jesus, seen limping, must also be examined. The brief does not say whether these players will be available on Tuesday.
