Joël Lorquet makes an official visit to Taiwan
Haitian writer-journalist Joël Lorquet is currently visiting Taiwan from October 5 to October 11, 2026, invited by Taiwanese authorities. This mission includes meetings with various government officials and visits to several public institutions and research centers.

According to Vant Bèf Info, Lorquet will participate in a seminar bringing together about twenty international professionals. The journalist is scheduled to meet with Taiwan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Chia-Lung Lin on October 8 and have lunch with Deputy Minister François Chihchung Wu.
The program also includes visits to the National Palace Museum, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI), as well as institutes for national defense, economic studies, and cultural studies. On October 10, Lorquet will take part in ceremonies marking Taiwan's 115th anniversary.
This visit is part of a series of exchanges between Haiti and Taiwan that dates back several decades, including visits by former presidents Jean-Bertrand Aristide in 1992 and 2002, as well as President Jovenel Moïse in May 2018.
