Opening of a new police station in Delmas 19
The Haitian National Police (HNP) inaugurated a new police station called "Antenna 19" in the Delmas 19 neighborhood on Wednesday. This facility aims to strengthen police presence and improve the safety of residents and businesses, as a response to issues related to armed gang activity, particularly that led by Jimmy Chérizier.

Several HNP officials attended the ceremony. Among them were Chief Commissioner Mackenzy Hector, deputy director of Departmental Directorate 1 (DDO-1), and Chief Commissioner Nacius Junior Lacombe, in charge of the Delmas jurisdiction.
Division Inspector Eugène Georges appointed Wilner Dorlean as the new station chief. According to DICOP, he will carry out his duties under the direction of the relevant police officials.
The construction of this building, which was expected to take three years despite difficulties faced by the police institution, will allow law enforcement to maintain a permanent presence in the area and facilitate interventions to better meet security needs.
