Haiti and Canada mobilize partners to strengthen the FRG
Haiti and Canada convened several international representatives on Thursday in New York as part of an initiative to support the Gang Repression Force (FRG). This meeting, which took place within the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), aimed primarily to attract the necessary resources to strengthen security support in Haiti.

Prime Minister of Haiti, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Mario Andrésol, Minister of Defense, and Raina Forbin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cults, presided over this meeting. The discussions focused on the importance of international coordination to address the country's security, humanitarian, and economic challenges.
Canada announced new aid of more than 570 million Canadian dollars since 2022, aimed at improving security, governance, and resilience in Haitian communities. This contribution is part of a global effort to support Haiti.
Fils-Aimé also presented several measures from his government aimed at strengthening national security capabilities, including a goal of 15,000 members for the Haitian army and progress on the P4M program of the Haitian National Police (PNH).
International partners present reaffirmed their willingness to support Haiti in its efforts to strengthen the FRG, mobilize necessary resources, and create a more stable environment for the country.
