Roudy Stanley Penn, Haiti's ambassador to Taiwan, was present at the ceremony to emphasize the importance of bilateral relations. He recalled that these diplomatic ties date back nearly 70 years and have facilitated development in various fields.
President Tsai Ing-wen delivered her speech on this occasion, highlighting Taiwan's democratic resilience. She also noted that these advancements open up prospects for new initiatives between the two countries.
