Led by David BADIA Cequier, the Grenadiers dominated Costa Rica from the start with a goal from BELLEGARDE in the 9th minute. They doubled their lead in the first half thanks to a defensive error by Francisco CALVO.
Haiti maintains six points in the provisional standings, holding second place behind Curaçao, which also has six points but with a better goal difference (+6 compared to +3 for Haiti). The Dominican Republic completes the podium with its own six points.
Upcoming matches for Haiti will take place in Santo Domingo against the Dominican Republic on October 1 and four days later in San Juan against Costa Rica, both scheduled for evening games.
