Giroud indicates his intention to retire
Olivier Giroud, star player for Lille and French international, has revealed that he is seriously considering retiring from competition at the end of this current season. The 40-year-old footballer spoke about it in an interview with the newspaper L'Équipe.

"I think it's very likely to be my last season," he said, adding: "We can do interviews next year with pleasure, but as a player, I am enjoying every moment."
Giroud, who began his career at Montpellier and had a brilliant period at Arsenal and Chelsea before having a successful stint in Italy with AC Milan, also played for Los Angeles Galaxy. He returned to France last season to join Lille.
