The first round of the October 4 election surprised observers, with Flavio Bolsonaro in the lead and Lula just behind. According to Datafolha, a survey conducted between last Tuesday and today among 2,520 voters shows a narrow lead for the conservative senator.
Election Details
The two candidates are now competing for the final election. The survey shows that the leaders are separated by 4 percentage points, with a low margin of uncertainty of ±2%.
Flavio Bolsonaro received 47.03% of the vote in the first round, while Lula recorded 45.16%. One-fifth of voters indicate they may still change their minds before the runoff.
Electoral Observations
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of Haiti sent a delegation to Brazil between Tuesday and today, led by Patrick SAINT-HILAIRE and Marie Florence MATHIEU, to observe the practices of Brazilian authorities during the election. The CEP plans to gather information on the organization of voting.
