According to Desras, such a dialogue must help define a path for the country's future and identify solutions to persistent problems. He also criticized the current leaders, whom he described as "delinquents" responsible for the security situation.
Desras further accused candidate Wilner Joseph, a member of Viktwa Dieuseul Simon Desras, of having ties to armed gangs. He asserts that the latter are "militiamen for the current government." Nevertheless, he did not provide concrete evidence to support his accusations.
The former senator also denounced the private sector, which he claims is seeking to keep Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé in power. He believes that the Episcopal Conference of Haiti, although intervening late, is making a positive contribution to this crisis.
Finally, Desras expressed his concern regarding the lack of progress in the investigation into the assassination of Jovenel Moïse. He emphasized that the American justice system is more active on this matter than the failing Haitian justice system.
