According to the US judicial system, these funds were fraudulently obtained and laundered before being used to finance the plot. The US Department of Justice states that Keegan Harricharan used PPP and EIDL loans to transfer roughly $175,000 to a bank account in May 2021, and then redistributed this money to other members of the plot through Walter Veintemilla. Another transfer of $80,000 took place between June 9 and 10.

These amounts do not necessarily represent the entirety of the funds used to finance the operation, but they illustrate how the diverted resources were sent to those involved in the conspiracy. The legal proceedings against these individuals still have to be proven in a court of law.
