According to City Council Member Rita Joseph, at least one person has been taken into custody and her office has referred their family to legal services.

According to PIX11, these operations took place from September 28 to October 1 near Cortelyou Road and East 35th Street. On October 2, further interventions were reported around Lenox Road, Linden Boulevard and Bedford Avenue by Little Caribbean officials.

Rita Joseph stated: "Flatbush is an immigrant community" and these operations are fueling fear among residents. These actions follow the expiration of TPS for approximately 350,000 Haitian nationals, according to figures cited by Hoodline.

In response to these repeated interventions, the organization Hands Off NYC has been going door-to-door to inform residents of their rights during federal interventions. The total number of people arrested is not known with certainty.

Background

Haitian TPS recently came to an end, exposing Haitian workers employed in hospitals and care facilities to a more precarious situation. The exact scale of the operations currently being carried out by ICE has not been made public.
