According to the Prime Minister, the FRG aims to enable the Haitian state to take back areas controlled by armed groups. "The state must regain control of its territory," Fils-Aimé stated during the ceremony.
The next day, Tuesday, October 6, FRG soldiers carried out foot patrols in Tabarre. They were supported by armored vehicles and helicopters to expand their presence in hard-to-reach areas, notably by removing several barricades.
The United Nations Office Support in Haiti (BANUH) has a budget of 375 million dollars approved by UN member states to support the FRG. The head of BANUH, Daniela Kroslak, indicated that this fund was used to provide logistical and operational support to the force.
