Request for Clarification
DEBLOKE considers it necessary for authorities to clarify the next steps in the electoral process, including campaign dates and voting schedules. The CEP announced on October 5 the extension of online candidate registration and the submission of required documents until October 31.
Government Objective
The group reminds that the government has declared its intention to have an elected president by February 7, 2027 at the latest. It invites institutions to publicly explain how they plan to meet this deadline and facilitate a transition to authorities elected by popular vote.
Institutional Neutrality
DEBLOKE emphasizes that the state must remain neutral during the electoral process, without favoring certain candidates or political formations. According to it, public resources should be used in the general interest and not for specific parties.
Security
In light of the persistence of insecurity, DEBLOKE urges the government to adopt concrete measures to protect voters and create a conducive environment for free, credible, and secure elections.
