Claude Joseph chosen as EDE's presidential candidate
Claude Joseph was chosen as the candidate for the Les Engagés pour le Développement (EDE) party for the upcoming presidential election during a meeting held on Thursday, September 17. The National Political Bureau of EDE met at the El Rancho hotel and unanimously designated Claude Joseph.

Joseph Harold Pierre, Jean Marc Berthier Antoine, and Helph Monod Honorat had also submitted their candidacies for this nomination. The decision by EDE comes after Claude Joseph registered as a voter on September 11.
Claude Joseph also denounced what he describes as "primary anti-Haitianism" and criticized Dominican President Luis Abinader for a hegemonic attitude toward Haiti. He urged respect for Haiti's sovereignty in bilateral relations.
