Before their departure, the military personnel were received at the headquarters of the Bangladeshi army where they met with Chief of Staff Md. Mainur Rahman. He emphasized the importance of discipline and professionalism during this mission.
This departure comes as Haiti continues to face armed gang violence in several urban areas. The FRG is supposed to help Haitian authorities control these territories and fight organized crime.
According to Vant Bèf Info, this vanguard group has not yet been followed by the rest of the Bangladeshi contingent. The exact date of their arrival in Haiti has not been officially communicated to date.
