Budget Forecast Announced

According to a press release published by Johnny Ferdinand, a journalist from Gonaïves and a member of Radio Télévision Caraïbes, the 2026-2027 budget allocates 105 million gourdes for the rehabilitation of Parc Sténio Vincent. This amount was approved during a Council of Ministers meeting held on September 30.

Historical Context

For more than fifteen years, the park has been in a state of disrepair and requires urgent intervention to restore life to this important space. In 2018 and 2012, announcements were made regarding the rehabilitation of Parc-Vincent without these commitments ever fully materializing.

Statements from Officials

Johnny Ferdinand stated: "We have won an important round of the battle, but other steps remain to be taken." Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and Minister Pythagore Dumas are thanked for their contribution.

Public Expectations

Although the announcement is seen as progress, the residents of Gonaïves are waiting for concrete actions on the ground. The rehabilitation of the park is viewed not only as a sports venue but also as an essential place for community life.
